IntroductionTo obtain a motorcycle license, you must take a mandatory motorcycle course. This mandatory course lasts 4 hours (if you already hold an A1 license) or 12 hours. If you're unsure, check the right side of your learner’s permit: the number of hours required is indicated there.
The basic motorcycle practical course (4h) is mandatory for those who already have an A1 license and wish to obtain the A license.
The basic motorcycle practical course (12h) is mandatory for anyone wishing to obtain a category A or subcategory A1 driving license.
The 4h and 12h basic courses are not beginner courses. If you want to get started with motorcycle riding or improve your skills before your mandatory course, we recommend taking private lessons with one of our instructors.

To participate in the motorcycle license course at our driving school in Geneva, it is mandatory to bring your valid learner’s permit. ContentsThe motorcycle course lasts 12 hours to obtain categories A1 and A, and must be completed within 4 months of the issuance of the learner’s permit. If a second learner’s permit is issued, the previously completed course remains valid for 12 months.
